On behalf of the Kattakurgan branch of Samarkand State University, I sincerely congratulate all of you on March 8 – International Women’s Day!
Expressing my best and sincere wishes to all of you, I wish you the happiness of always being in the honor of your family and loved ones, our people.
It should be noted that over the next five years, women and men will have equal rights and opportunities, their equal participation in the management of public and state affairs, social and legal support for women, as well as their extensive reforms have been implemented to protect against oppression and violence.
The issue of gender equality has been raised to the level of public policy, and about thirty pieces of legislation have been adopted in this area.
The Commission on Gender Equality of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Committee on Women and Gender Equality in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan have been established.
On the first day of spring – March 1, President Islam Karimov expressed his proposals and initiatives to show more respect for our women, to further enhance their role in the family, society, labor, education and in our lives as a whole. He instructed to expand the scope of reforms in this area, to create an important legal framework.
In fact, today the Kattakurgan branch of Samarkand State University has more than forty female professors and staff.
They have made a worthy contribution to the development of the scientific potential of our newly established branch, the education of our students.
440 female students study at our branch. Their thirst for knowledge, ingenuity, and ability are admirable. In particular, philology and language teaching: Umida Mustafakulova, a student of Uzbek language, won the competition “The best researcher” among young researchers in the Commonwealth of Independent States. It is noteworthy that Mashhura Sunnatillayeva, a student of sports (wrestling), won a bronze medal at the World Championship in belt wrestling in Jizzakh, and the achievements of our girls are noteworthy.
Taking this opportunity, I would like to congratulate all our dear mothers, sisters, every female professors, staff and students of our branch on March 8 – International Women’s Day!
